Day-one-hundred-six...

Colors... So my subject for the evening was a no show, so "my little friend" had to step in, I know two days of toys... well nothing I could do, but I had to get my photo one way or another...

On a side note, for the next week I'm switching my post editing software from LightRoom 3 B2 to Aperture 3. This is a little scary as I've gotten quite use to LR3 and actually quite quick with it, but seeing as its only a beta and expires when the full version comes out and how I already own a copy of Aperture 3, I figured now would be a better time than ever to at least try it out and maybe make the switch... till tomorrow... enjoy...

Theme... So I've been contemplating for a while about following a few others who are also doing project 365 similar to myself on doing a day theme like bokeh Wednesday, bench Monday, etc... then I thought why don't I just make up my own, this is my project after all... so I'm going to be trying out my own version of this and call it "Toy Thursday" I'll be taking a picture of some toy every Thursday and also possibly trying out a new post processing technique as well if I pick something up that week... so lets start this off shall we... till tomorrow... enjoy...

Testing... So I started playing with the lighting configuration I'm going to be using for an upcoming project, mainly small products... I still haven't figured out what kind of setup I want to do but this is an ok start...

Sunset... My relatives came up today to Austin today for a quick day trip to check out the sites... I hung out with them after work of course, they wanted to see Mt.Bonnell and I was more than happy to oblige their request and I figured why not get my photo of the day while I was up there. This is the view of the TV/radio towers above West Lake and I was lucky enough to be there right before the sun went down...

Day-one-hundred-two...

Micro-105... One of the more useful lenses that I've purchased over the last year, I originally got it so that I could do macro shots of Sarah's fish tank. Then it evolved into a pretty sharp lens for product photography, and on a DX body it makes for a really sharp portrait lens.

After a month plus of using nothing but zooms I've decided its time to get back to basics so my primes come out, this being my favorite one, plus its time to put a few things I haven't been using up for sale and I can't think of a better lens for some product shots...

Day-one-hundred-one...

Bluebonnet... Every year I say I'm going to go out and photograph bluebonnets and every year I either can't find a safe field to photograph at (they grow on the sides of roads everywhere in Texas), weather doesn't cooperate, I'm just too busy, or I forget all together. Well not this year, I lucked out as I went on a small walkabout around the SEU campus playing my new geo-location game "My Town" on my iPhone and came across the area around the soccer field covered in bluebonnets, and luckily for me I had my G11 handy...

Day-one-hundred...

Crazy... Wow, I've made it to day one-hundred, check that off on the mile-stone chart... I know I've been lagging in making daily posts, but its been a wee bit hectic, I promise to try harder to post something daily...

I guess I should line out some guidelines that I've been following for this project 365 so far, as people who know I've been doing this have been confused at why somethings get done but not others... again these are just guidelines not really rules as this is my project on my terms...

1. I have to take a picture daily, doesn't matter what camera, doesn't matter what style, it has to be a picture that I've created and somehow relates to something in my daily goings on...
2. I don't have to post daily, I try to post daily but some days are just better than others and lately its just been a wee bit crazy with work and all...
3. If I have an photographic assignment I'm allowed to use an outtake as my daily posting, but not the actual assignment...
4. I'm doing this to help me become a better well rounded photographer (techinally, graphically, etc.), and hopefully help me find my style and niche while I'm at it.
5. I also hope with the "Photo Info" sections I write up I'm able to share info with other photographers with learning something new...
6. Which brings up the question... why do people hide their exif metadata, just look at it the way I do "Imitation is the sincerest of flattery."

Anyway, the photo above is of someone who is really crazy (I'm going to be nice and not mention names)... don't mention her kids she's a little "pikon" (<---understatement, look it up its tagalog)about them... and this expression on her face fits the title ohh so well... Oh well another day... and almost caught up again... on to the next photo...

Statue... I've been watching the series Life after People and this scene in the backyard reminded me of the primary premise for that show, that if left alone with out any disturbance of man, nature will come back to reclaim what is rightfully her's...

Springtime... ahhh springtime is finally here, the days are getting longer, and the weather is nice enough that I'm actually more inclined to do my photo of the day outside... good bye cold winter (keep your fingers crossed)...
