Day-thirty...

Four-strings... Easy going Saturday, did breakfast tacos at Torchy's and then ran errands after that, looking for ideas, inspiration, anything for today's photo... being creative ain't easy... just couldn't muster enough go go to get out of the house and shoot something outdoors before it got dark, but I did talk Sarah in to holding her uke for what I think is a really cool photo... ten shots all it took including test shots, its so much easier when you have a model... till tomorrow... enjoy...

Pocketwizard... So I was experimenting with triggering two cameras and an off-camera flash with pocketwizards... saw a cool video on sportsshooter.com on how to set this up and while talking to Sarah this evening she mentioned that I should do a picture of a picture so I figured why not... no mirrors one camera triggering another and an off-camera speedlight... this is what we have after about 100 frames... till tomorrow... enjoy...

Nikon... D300s...what else is there to say... I've been searching for an affordable digital range finder... why doesn't Nikon come up with something like this, I went to the G11 cause there's nothing comparable in the Nikon line. I would like something like the Olympus EP-1 or 2 or the Lumix DMC-GF1 but with a viewfinder, I don't need fancy zooms for it but would like something like a 50mm f/1.4 equivalent lens, APS-C/DX sensor would be fine, Nikon of course, and under $800. If this camera existed I would easily sell my G11... ohh well, a boy can dream can't he... till tomorrow... enjoy...

Downtown... I spent the evening in the Hilton downtown Austin at the SXSW 2K10 volunteer call. This is the view from the 6th floor patio facing south towards the river right at dusk... Fast lens, IS, and high ISO equals an awesome handheld shot with the G11... till tomorrow... enjoy...
